Owing to the congestion of this remarkable season, some players may likely miss the FIFA 2022 World Cup due to injuries.
For athletes worrying about recovering from injuries in time for the event, FIFA 2022 World Cup may be the most challenging one ever.
Numerous celebrities have already been ruled out of Qatar, while a number of elite athletes must wait anxiously for their health.
It is not brand-new. The anxious few weeks leading up to an international tournament are now a football cliché, but because domestic football is set to end only a week before the World Cup starts, this period is more nerve-wracking than usual.
The squad member restriction for FIFA 2022 World Cup teams has been increased to 26.
Everyone is going through a weird moment. Unfortunately, with time running out to prepare for Qatar, the emphasis is shifting to 2026, which is bad news for an ever-growing list.
Here is a complete list of all those who are either certain to miss the FIFA 2022 World Cup or who are uncertain about their level of fitness for the event.
There are a number of notable casualties who are expected to miss the tournament in Qatar; Sadio Mané, who had a tendon injury during Bayern Munich’s game against Werder Bremen, is possibly the biggest of them all.
Timo Werner is also expected to be out, as is 2018 World Cup finalist Paul Pogba, who underwent knee surgery as a result of problems that plagued his Juventus comeback. N’Golo Kante, who injured his ankle against Tottenham in August, won’t be ready in time. While Wales and Bournemouth star David Brooks, who targeted the World Cup after being diagnosed with stage two Hodgkin lymphoma last year, has suffered injury setbacks on his road to recovery and will heartbreakingly miss out, Diogo Jota suffered a tournament-ending injury against Manchester City in the Premier League.
In the England camp, Chelsea full-backs Reece James and Ben Chilwell have both been ruled out of the tournament. James had previously indicated(opens in new tab) he was fighting to get fit for the tournament – but now appears to have lost that race.
